Today's meditation was shared by Cathy Self, Senior Vice President for the Baptist Healing Trust.
"You have blessed me and given me peace." Karen Updike
In the spirit of this week's meditations, words written by a lovely poet may awaken in you a heart of gratitude and peace, a place of rest in your day of giving care. The poet is sister-in-law to Erie Chapman and she offers glimpses into simple yet deeply meaningful moments of living. In this season of change may her words be sweet balm to your hearts and spirits.
Oh incremental slowness I love watching you spread green dotted lines over winter plowed fields! I love watching you creep a brilliant yellow up ragwort spires, and bulge tight knots of hydrangea into creamy, billowing blooms. In your time, in your time, the vine lengthens and twines, the Labrador violet curls
farther along rocky cracks. I see Irish moss sending forth its starts, feathered grasses unfurling their plumes, milkweed pods swelling with silk. Oh slow steady force unfolding the world, you have blessed me and given me peace. In the Fullness of Time - Karen Updike
